The ETSU Cycling Club was formed in 1998 by a group of riders looking to promote cycling on campus and to compete collegiately with other schools. Since its induction, a trail system has been established on campus including five miles of cross country trails, downhill course, two dual slalom courses and a short track course. Each course is maintained by the club to allow great riding year round. From the time the team started, ETSU has proven to be a powerhouse in downhill and dual slalom racing. This includes thirteen individual podium finishes and two national championships since the year 2002. The ETSU Cycling Club is open to riders of all abilities and disciplines; we ride everything: downhill, cross country, road, cyclocross, and dirt jumps.
